Michigan Lottery players have a chance to be part of history tonight by purchasing a ticket for the first Lucky For Life drawing. Tickets for the Lottery’s newest draw game went on sale Tuesday.
Lucky For Life players may select their own numbers or choose an easy pick play. Tickets for Lucky For Life may be purchased until 9:04 p.m. the day of each drawing.
Beginning tonight, Lucky For Life drawings will take place on Monday and Thursday at 10:35 p.m.
For just $2 per play, Lucky For Life gives Lottery players a chance to win prizes ranging from $4 up to a lifetime of cash. To win the game’s top prize of $1,000 a day for life, players must match all five winning numbers ranging from 1 to 48, plus one Lucky Ball ranging from 1 to 18. Players who match all five winning numbers, but not the Lucky Ball, will win $25,000 a year for life.
Players who win a lifetime prize will receive annual payments for a minimum of 20 years or life, whichever is greater. Players also will have the option to receive the lifetime prize as a one-time lump sum cash payment. The cash option for a single top-prize winner would be nearly $5.8 million. The cash option for a single winner of the $25,000 per year for life prize would be $390,000. The cash option prizes for multiple winners will be determined based on the game’s official rules.
Michigan will be one of 14 states participating in the new Lucky For Life game at its launch. The other participating states are: Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, South Carolina and Vermont. More states are expected to offer the game in the future.
