The Powerball jackpot has climbed to $221 million for Saturday night’s drawing, prompting many Michigan Lottery players to daydream about how they’d spend the huge prize. The cash value of the jackpot is $132.1 million.
The growing jackpot is the second largest Powerball jackpot of 2014. In February, B. Raymond Buxton, of northern California, claimed this year’s largest jackpot of $425.3 million. He chose to take a one-time lump sum payment of more than $242 million.
The Powerball drawing will take place at 10:59 p.m. Saturday. Tickets for the drawing must be purchased before 9:45 p.m.
Powerball plays may be purchased for $2 each at any of the 11,000 Lottery retailers throughout the state. A “Power Play” option that can multiply non-jackpot prizes by up to five times may be added to any Powerball play for only $1.
The Powerball drawing may be watched live on the Lottery’s network of stations: WBKB-TV 11 (CBS), WDIV-TV 4 (NBC), WNEM-TV 5 (CBS), WXSP-TV (MyNetwork TV), WLAJ-TV 53 (ABC), WLUC-TV 6 (NBC/FOX) and WGTU-TV 29/WGTQ-TV 8 (ABC).
