A winning Fantasy 5 ticket expired today and the $100,000 prize went to the state School Aid Fund.
The Fantasy 5 ticket, which expired at 4:45 p.m. today, matched all five of the winning numbers for the May 8, 2013 drawing. Those numbers were: 04-22-27-36-37. The ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven located at 24111 Meadowbrook in Novi.
It was the fourth major Michigan Lottery prize to go unclaimed since March 10, adding nearly $739,000 to the School Aid Fund. Two of the winning tickets were bought in Southfield. The third was purchased in Flint. The other unclaimed prizes were:
- $250,000 Mega Millions prize. The winning ticket expired on April 14. It was bought in Southfield, at the 8 Mile Foodland, 18880 8 Mile Road.
- $250,000 Mega Millions prize. The winning ticket expired on March 31. It was bought in Flint, at the South End Market, 1701 S. Saginaw Street.
- $138,727 Fantasy 5 prize. The winning ticket expired on March 10. It was bought in Southfield, at the Smokers Depot & Convenience, 27214 West 8 Mile Road.
Looking ahead, a $250,000 Mega Millions prize must be claimed by June 9 or that prize also will go to the state School Aid Fund. That ticket was purchased in Pinckney at the Kroger supermarket located at 9700 Chilson Commons Circle. It matched the five white balls for the June 7, 2013 Mega Millions drawing. Those numbers were: 01-10-37-48-55.
Mega Millions tickets are valid for one year from the drawing date. Because the one-year mark for this winning ticket falls on a Saturday, the ticket will be valid until 4:45 p.m. on Monday, June 9.
The Lottery contributed $734.3 million to the School Aid Fund in the 2013 fiscal year. That works out to about $483 for each of the 1.52 million pupils in the state’s kindergarten-through-12th grade system.
