The Michigan Lottery’s Classic Lotto 47 created another Michigan millionaire Wednesday night when one lucky player matched all six numbers to win the $5.5 million jackpot!
The winning numbers are 4-5-24-28-38 and 40. The ticket was purchased at the Wine Baron, located at 25303 Plymouth Rd. in Redford.
At this time, no winner has come forward to claim this prize. The big winner should contact the Michigan Lottery’s Public Relations Division at 517-373-1237, to schedule an appointment to claim the prize. Classic Lotto 47 tickets and all other terminal-based tickets are valid one year from the draw date. If prizes are unclaimed, they go to the state School Aid Fund. The Lottery contributed $734.3 million to the School Aid Fund in fiscal year 2013. That works out to about $465 for each of the 1.58 million pupils in the state’s kindergarten-through-12th grade system.
The last millionaire created by Classic Lotto 47 is Joseph Palmarchuk, of Barryton, who claimed a $1.3 million jackpot on Nov. 6, 2013. Palmarchuk purchased his Classic Lotto 47 ticket from Pitts Stop in Barryton.
All told, 12,350 players won more than $5.7 million in prizes from Wednesday night’s Classic Lotto 47 drawing. The prize amounts ranged from $5 to the $5.5 million jackpot.
To play the Classic Lotto 47 game, players select six numbers from a pool of numbers from 1 to 47. Matching six numbers wins a jackpot guaranteed to be at least $1 million. Wagers are $1 each and drawings are held at 7:29 pm on Wednesday and Saturday. Tickets may be purchased until 7:08 p.m. on the day of the drawing. The Michigan Lottery launched the Classic Lotto 47 game on May 15, 2005.
