The Mega Millions jackpot is up to $353 million! The jackpot rolled over again after no one matched all six numbers from Tuesday’s drawing.
If a lucky Michigan Lottery player ends up with the lone winning ticket for tonight’s drawing, that person would be the biggest lottery winner in Michigan history! At $353 million, tonight’s jackpot is $16 million higher than the $337 million Powerball jackpot won by Donald Lawson, of Lapeer, on Aug. 15, 2012. It would also be a whopping $145 million more than the state’s Mega Million’s record jackpot, $208 million, won by Ralph and Mary Stebbins, of Port Huron, on April 22, 2005.
The winner could decide to take the money in a one-time lump sum payment and would receive $194 million! Or, the jackpot can be paid out as an escalating annuity with 30 payments over 29 years. With a $353 million jackpot, the winner would get an initial payment of about $5.3 million, which would increase about 5 percent each year, to a final payment of approximately $21.8 million.
Tonight’s Mega Millions drawing will take place at 11 p.m. Tickets are $1 each and must be purchased by 10:45 p.m. to be eligible for the drawing.
