Irene Molette of Detroit had never played an online game before; she prefers scratch-off tickets. However, when she scratched off her instant Powerball ticket, her prize was a free online Powerball ticket.
“I didn’t even know how to play. I had to call people to help me,” said Molette.
The free ticket proved to be something special! The Easy Pick ticket won Molette $1,000,000 when it matched 5 numbers in the September 29 drawing.
Molette intends to use the money to help take care of her family. She also wants to buy her first home and go visit her daughter in Minnesota.
The winning ticket was sold at MLK Food Center located at 3181 3rd Ave. in Detroit.
