A Lottery player from Lincoln Park was online at www.michiganlottery.com when he noticed that someone had won the Fantasy 5 Lottery game. On further inspection he realized that the retailer was the same one where he’d purchased his ticket the night before. “That’s when I went and got the ticket and checked the numbers,” he said. He then realized he’d won the Fantasy 5 jackpot of $133,855.
The player, who wishes to remain anonymous, got his numbers from Easy Pick. He has been playing the Lottery for about 20 years and his largest previous Lottery prize was $100. He plans to take a vacation with his wife and family, and then save the rest of the money.
The winning ticket was sold by Harrison Liquor & Wine Market located at 735 Harrison Blvd. in Lincoln Park, Michigan.
Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2011, the contribution to schools was over $727.3 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed over $16 billion to education in Michigan.
