Retired St. Charles man claims Mega Millions prize!

Michigan Lottery Mega MillionsLewis Gould matched 5 white balls in the January 24, 2012 Mega Millions drawing to win a $250,000 prize!

This 90 year-old, lifelong St. Charles resident, typically plays Fantasy 5, but for some reason he was inclined to purchase a $1 Mega Millions ticket on Tuesday, January 24th.  Now Mr. Gould has $250,000 wonderful reasons to be glad that he did!!  With his winnings, he will pay off the reverse mortgage on his home and continue to enjoy being retired!

The winning easy-pick ticket was purchased at St. Charles Oil Company, located at 635 North Saginaw Street, in St. Charles.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2011, the contribution to schools was over $727.3 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed over $16 billion to education in Michigan.
