LANSING, May 25, 2011 – Monopoly isn’t just a board game anymore. With the Michigan Lottery’s Monopoly™ ticket players can now win real cash!
In addition to the top prizes available on the $2, $5 and $10 tickets, players have a second chance to win $1 million on non-winning tickets through the Lottery’s Player’s Club Web site, www.michiganlottery.com .
To enter, players must submit their non-winning Monopoly™ tickets on the Lottery’s Player’s Club Web site, www.michiganlottery.com . Each dollar spent earns an entry into the contest. For example, a player who enters a $10 Monopoly™ instant ticket would earn 10 entries.
Players can earn additional entries to the second chance contest by playing the Lottery’s virtual Monopoly™ game. As the player progresses through the game, they can earn Monopoly™ money. At the conclusion of the game, the Monopoly™ money earned by the player will be converted into drawing entries.
Bonus drawings will be conducted throughout the summer to select three finalists who will appear on the fall episode of the Lottery’s “Make Me Rich!” game show. Each finalist selected will receive $10,000 and a chance to win $1 million!
For additional information on the Monopoly second chance contest, please visit the Lottery’s Web site at www.michiganlottery.com .
Over 94 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2010, the contribution to schools was $701.3 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
