Lottery office moves to Livonia

LANSING, May 19, 2011 – The Michigan Lottery’s Dearborn Heights regional office will move to Livonia.

Beginning Monday, May 23, players can cash tickets at the new office located at 33231 Plymouth Rd., in Livonia. The new phone number is 734-266-3769.

The current office, located at 27315 W. Warren, in Dearborn Heights, will permanently close on Friday at 4:45 p.m. Players can cash their tickets at the Dearborn Heights office until closing on Friday and will have to go to the new Livonia location on Monday.

“We are excited to open our new office in Livonia and expect the new facility will continue to serve our players in Wayne County” said Lottery Commissioner M. Scott Bowen.

Players who win any prize over $600 but less than $50,001 must visit one of the Lottery’s Regional offices or licensed bank claim centers to redeem tickets. Other Regional offices are located in Detroit, Grand Rapids, Sterling Heights, Lansing and Saginaw.

Over 94 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2010, the contribution to schools was $701.3 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
