Chelsea woman is $270,000 richer!

LANSING, August 5, 2010 – Donna Lesser could not be happier.

Lesser was the lucky winner of a $270,000 prize on the Michigan Lottery’s Red Hot & Blue 7s instant ticket. The ticket was claimed at Lottery Central in Lansing on Wednesday.

“This prize is more than getting five numbers on Mega Millions,” Lesser later realized. “Wow!” Hugs were given to everyone within arm’s reach.

The winning ticket was purchased at Chelsea Pharmacy, 1125 S. Main, in Chelsea.

Over 94 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2009, the contribution to schools was $724.5 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
