LANSING, April 19, 2010 – Michigan Lottery players will soon have the chance to combine the excitement of an instant win, the play style of bingo and big jackpots in one fun, new game! Lucky Lines goes on sale Sunday and will be available wherever Lottery tickets are sold.
To start, players can select their own numbers or Easy Pick seven numbers between 1 and 49. A ticket will print with the player’s seven numbers and a game board of 49 numbers. Like bingo, players have to match their numbers together horizontally, vertically or diagonally on the game board to win.
With Lucky Lines, the player determines how much they can win by their wager. Players can purchase tickets for $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10, or $20 per play. The more you wager, the more you can win! If a player bets $20 and matches all seven numbers together on a line, they would win $10 million instantly! But smaller wagers can still win players big money. The same seven-number match on a $1 wager wins $500,000; $2 wins $1,000,000 million; $3 wins $1,500,000; $4 wins $2,000,000; $5 wins $2,500,000; $10 wins $5,000,000; and as mentioned, $20 wins $10,000,000.
Like other Lottery games, players can also win by matching 3, 4, 5, or 6 numbers together as well. In all, there are 49 different ways to play and win!
“We are excited to offer players a game that combines a lot of their favorites: bingo play. Instant wins and big jackpots, said Lottery Commissioner M. Scott Bowen. “Lucky Lines will give players the chance to win big and win fast.”
Over 98.5 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2009, the contribution to schools was $724.5 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
