LANSING, October 16, 2009 – An anonymous Lottery player from Livonia was the lucky winner of the September 30 $2.9 million Classic Lotto 47 jackpot!

The lucky winning own-pick ticket was sold at Livonia Drugs, Inc., 33525 5 Mile Rd., in Livonia.

In total, 14,452 players were winners in the September 30 drawing, with prize amounts ranging from $5 to the jackpot.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2008, the contribution to schools was $715 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
