Grand Blanc player is $250,000 richer!

LANSING, July 20, 2009 – John Tuohy of Grand Blanc is a very lucky Mega Millions player! He matched the first five white balls in the July 10 drawing to win a second-tier $250,000 prize!

Tuohy purchased his winning own-pick ticket before he went on vacation and didn’t realize he had won until he returned. He hid the ticket in his wallet before cashing it a Lottery Central in Lansing. The Grand Blanc man plans to pay bill with the prize money.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Whigville Market, 6039 Dort Hwy., in Grand Blanc.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
