$10,000 prize claimed!

LANSING, July 15, 2009 – Elaina Rojas thought her “eyes were playing tricks on her” after she scratched off a $10,000 prize in the Lottery’s Million Dollar Mega Play Instant game.

Rojas checked and double checked her winning ticket before believing she had actually won the prize. She kept the ticket in the glove box of her car before cashing it at the Lottery’s Saginaw office. The lucky winner plans to go on vacation with the prize money.

The winning ticket was purchased at Next Door Store #50, 325 E. Saginaw St., in Breckenridge.

Million Dollar Mega Play is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2008, the contribution to schools was $740.7 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
