Upper Peninsula player wins $12.7 million jackpot!

LANSING, July 2, 2009 – One lucky Michigan Lottery player from the Upper Peninsula has won last night’s $12.7 million Classic Lotto 47 jackpot!

The winning ticket, with the numbers 01 04 05 16 30 38, was sold at Holiday #203, 7502 State Hwy. South M123, in Newberry. The winner should contact the Michigan Lottery’s Public Relations Division at 517-373-1237 to schedule an appointment to claim the prize.

In total, 16,715 players were winners in last night’s drawing, with prize amounts ranging from $5 to the jackpot.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2008, the contribution to schools was $740.7 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
