$24,000 4 Way Cash prize claimed!

LANSING, April 6, 2009 – Ellen Rogers scratched her way to a $24,000 prize on the Lottery’s 4 Way Cash Instant ticket.

The Union Pier woman hid the winning ticket in her purse before cashing it at the Lottery’s Grand Rapids office. The long-time Lottery player plans to take a vacation with some of the prize money.

The lucky ticket was purchased at Bud & Elsie’s, 9805 Townline, in Union Pier.

4 Way Cash is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2008, the contribution to schools was over $740.7 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
