LANSING, February 27, 2009 – An anonymous long-time Lottery player was excited when he realized his January 21 Fantasy 5 ticket was worth a whopping $100,000!
The Wyandotte man learned of his good fortune on the Lottery’s Web site. He has no immediate plans for the prize money.
The winning easy-pick ticket was purchased at George’s Convenience Store, 13826 Sibley Rd., in Riverview.
Fantasy 5 drawings are conducted seven days a week. Jackpots start at $100,000 and grow by approximately $5,000 daily.
Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2008, the contribution to schools was over $740.7 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
