LANSING, February 27, 2009 – A very lucky Lottery player jumped up and down after learning she won a $10,000 prize from a Multi-Prize Bingo instant ticket.
Danielle DeFrece from Idlewild told Lottery officials that she is not a regular Lottery player but was excited to win. She plans to use the prize money to purchase a car.
The lucky ticket was purchased at Baldwin E-Z Mart, 1210 Michigan Ave., in Baldwin.
Multi-Prize Bingo is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2008, the contribution to schools was over $740.7 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
