LANSING, February 26, 2009 – An anonymous man had a very happy birthday after he scratched a winning Cadillac Cash ticket he received as a birthday present and revealed it was a huge $75,000 winner!
The Sterling Heights man didn’t believe his good fortune – or that he received a winning ticket as a birthday present! The regular Lottery player and his wife plan to use the prize money for home improvements and to help their grandson with college tuition.
The lucky instant ticket was purchased at Meijer #55, 36600 Van Dyke Ave., in Sterling Heights.
Cadillac Cash is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2008, the contribution to schools was $740.7 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
