LANSING, January 21, 2009 – The second half of the December 18 Fantasy 5 prize has been claimed by an anonymous man. The original half was $50,000, but the winner matched two numbers on another line of the ticket bringing the grand total to $50,001.

The winning easy-pick ticket was purchased at Kroger #654, 8260 23 Mile Rd., in Shelby Township.

Fantasy 5 drawings are conducted seven days a week. Jackpots start at $100,000 and grow by approximately $5,000 daily.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2008, the contribution to schools was over $740.7 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
