LANSING, December 10, 2008 – David Chambers considers himself to be a lucky man. He matched all five Fantasy 5 numbers in the November 28 drawing and is now $100,000 richer!
The regular player checked his ticket on the Lottery’s Web site in the middle of the night. He told Lottery officials that he “didn’t really sleep for the rest of the night.” He plans to use the prize money to pay bills.
Chambers purchased the lucky winning easy-pick ticket at Red Caboose Wine Shop, 2465 Holbrook St. , in Hamtramck.
Fantasy 5 drawings are conducted seven days a week. Jackpots start at $100,000 and grow by approximately $5,000 daily.
Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2008, the contribution to schools was $740.7 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
