Muskegon man claims third 8 Over 8 instant prize

LANSING, September 22, 2008 – Vincent Port of Muskegon just knew he was going to win the Lottery one day. The regular player was right! He cashed in an 8 Over 8 instant ticket worth $80,000!

Port and his wife, Joy, have played the Lottery for 20-plus years and this is their largest win to date. He plans to use the prize money to pay bills and would like to make a donation to his church.

The third of eight lucky winning tickets was purchased at Pic N Pac Market, 5187 Henry St., in Muskegon.

8 Over 8 is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
