Newlyweds make a “good deal”

LANSING, July 25, 2008 – An anonymous couple made the deal of a lifetime when they won $100,000 on the Lottery’s Deal or No Deal instant game. The prize remained in their final briefcase.

The newlyweds purchased the ticket when they were on a road trip. They scratched the ticket in the car and were excited with the win. They plan to use the prize money to go on a honeymoon and put a down payment on a house.

The winning ticket was purchased at Charlies Country Corner, 5800 Nelson A Miles Parkway, in Grayling.

Deal or No Deal is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
