Prize "kicked up" to $25,000

LANSING, March 5, 2008 – Sherman LeVan won a huge Club Keno prize! He matched nine of 10 number in a 10-spot game and chose the Kicker option, which multiplied his normal $5,000 by five to make a $25,000 prize total!

The regular Club Keno player hid the ticket in his pocket prior to cashing it in at the Lottery’s Saginaw office.

The Millington man purchased his own-pick ticket at Cardinal Country Pizza, 8220 Ellis Rd., in Millington.

Club Keno offers 37 different ways to play and win. Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time. Players win Club Keno by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn. The more numbers matched, the more the player wins.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
