Port Huron woman wins twice

LANSING, February 15, 2008 – Mary Herr is a very lucky lady! She has won not once, but twice in the past month on two separate Instant games.

First, she claimed a Super Gems ticket worth $10,000 on Jan. 28 and a $35,000 Cashword ticket on Feb. 11!

The winner, who works as a 911 dispatcher, plans to use her winnings to pay bills, buy a four-wheeler and the Lottery’s Super Raffle tickets for her family.

The Super Gems ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven 065B, 1422 24th St., in Port Huron and the Cashword ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven 132H, 1524 10th St., also in Port Huron.

Super Gems and Cashword are just two of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
