Prize "kicked up" by 10X

LANSING, February 14, 2008 – Randall Dowdy was lucky to select the Kicker option on the Club Keno game!

He jolted his normal match six of six prize from $1,100 to a whopping $11,000 when a 10X Kicker appeared on the screen! He also matched three of six numbers two different times to win an additional $2. Dowdy’s grand total for the evening was $11,002!

The lucky Muskegon man is a regular Club Keno player who plans to “spend, spend, spend” his lucky winnings. He hid his lucky ticket at a restaurant prior to cashing it in at the Lottery’s Grand Rapids office.

The own pick winning ticket was purchased at Whitlow’s Forerunner, 4610 Airline Rd., in Muskegon.

Club Keno offers 37 different ways to play and win. Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time. Players win Club Keno by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn. The more numbers matched, the more the player wins.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
