Club Keno prize claimed

LANSING, February 13, 2008 – A very lucky anonymous woman claimed a Club Keno prize. She matched all eight numbers in her 8-spot ticket and two of eight numbers to bring the grand total to $10,002!

The winner hid the winning ticket in her purse prior to cashing it in at the Lottery’s Sterling Heights location. She plans to use the prize money to pay off taxes.

The own pick winning ticket was purchased at Brew Bob’s, 10150 Highland Rd., in White Lake.

Club Keno offers 37 different ways to play and win. Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time. Players win Club Keno by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn. The more numbers matched, the more the player wins.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
