$10,000 prize claimed

LANSING, February 13, 2008 – Julie Vaughn is a very lucky Club Keno prize winner! She matched all eight numbers in an 8-spot game to win $10,000!

The Linden woman told Lottery officials that she was in “total shock” with her win. She locked the lucky winning ticket in her truck and later transferred it to her dresser before cashing it in at the Lottery’s Saginaw regional office.

Vaughn plans to use the prize money to pay bills, use some for play money, and save the rest. She enjoys photography and camping in her free time.

The regular Lottery player purchased the own pick winning ticket at Rollaway Lanes, Inc., 317 S. Main, in Davison.

Club Keno offers 37 different ways to play and win. Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time. Players win Club Keno by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn. The more numbers matched, the more the player wins.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
