"Super" Bingo prize won

LANSING, September 5, 2007 – A very surprised Yspilanti man won a huge $27,000 prize when he scratched a winning Super 7’s Bingo instant ticket.

The 62-year-old retiree hid his lucky winning ticket in his dresser before cashing it in at the Lottery’s Dearborn Heights office.  The winner has no immediate plans for his prize money.

James Herndon, who enjoys fishing in his free time, purchased the lucky winning ticket at Next Level Petro Inc., 745 S. Grove St., in Ypsilanti.

Super 7’s Bingo is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
