Almont man wins $10,000

LANSING, July 10, 2007 – A “shocked” winner claimed his $10,000 prize at the Lottery office in Sterling Heights after he matched four white balls and the Mega ball in the July 2 Mega Millions drawing.

Arnold Wilson said he’s been playing the Lottery since it began and this is his largest win to date.  He has no immediate plans for his prize money.

The winner purchased the easy pick ticket at Mobil X, 3983 Van Dyke, in Almont.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
