Kalamazoo man wins $12,300

LANSING, May 31, 2007 – David Stafford is a very lucky 5-spot Club Keno player!  Usually matching five of five numbers pays out $410, but on May 23, Stafford bet $3 a hand and picked the Kicker option, which came out 10X, and won a whopping $12,300!

This is the largest prize the Kalamazoo retiree has won since he began playing in 1972.  The winning ticket was purchased on a “hunch” and the money will be spent paying bills.

The winning own pick ticket was purchased at M-89 Sports Bar & Grill, 129 E. Allegan St., in Otsego.

Club Keno offers 37 different ways to play and win.  Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time.  Players win Club Keno by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn.  The more numbers matched, the more the player wins.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
