LANSING, May 7 2007 – Michele Brunk was thrilled when she scratched a $40,000,000 Spectacular ticket worth $10,000!

Brunk, who has been playing the Lottery for about 12 years, said she was home alone when she scratched the winning ticket and had to get a magnifying glass to be sure her ticket was a big winner. 

The lucky woman said she plans to use some of her money to make a charitable contribution as well as do something special with her daughter.

The winning ticket was purchased at Smoker’s Palace, 1581 S. Ortonville Rd., in Ortonville.  The winner hid it in a dresser drawer until cashing it in at the Lottery office in Saginaw.

$40,000,000 Spectacular is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
