27-year-old wins $10,000 prize

LANSING, March 12, 2007 – A very lucky Centerline man won a $10,000 prize by matching four white balls and the gold ball in the March 6 Mega Millions drawing.

Michael Smola learned of his good fortune by watching the numbers come up on his TV.  He told Lottery officials that he was “happy” with his win.  Smola has no immediate plans for his prize money.

The lucky easy pick ticket was purchased at M & S Sundries Inc., 400 Monroe St., in Detroit.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
