Winner claims big prize

LANSING, December 18, 2006 – John Castle is a very lucky man!  The Eaton Rapids player won $10,000 when he matched four white balls, plus the Mega ball in the October 17 Mega Millions drawing.

The winner said he plans to use his prize money to pay bills.

The winning easy pick ticket was purchased at Speedway #7218, 1202 S. Main St., M-50, in Eaton Rapids.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
