LANSING, December 6, 2006 – Steve Yakimovich, of Reading, got more than he planned when he won $10,000 playing Club Keno.
The winner, who has been playing the Lottery since it began, matched all eight numbers in an 8-Spot game to win the prize.
He “couldn’t believe it” when his numbers appeared on the screen. He plans to use the money to buy a new car.
The lucky ticket was purchased at Hillside Lanes, 400 W. Carelton Rd., in Hillsdale.
Club Keno offers 37 different ways to play and win. Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time. Players win Club Keno by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn. The more numbers matched, the more the player wins.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
