LANSING, October 17, 2006 – An anonymous regular Lottery player from Jackson scratched her way to a $1 million top prize on the Lottery’s $40,000,000 Spectacular Instant ticket.

The lucky winner, who had previously won a $12,000 prize from the Michigan Rolldown game, didn’t think she was reading her ticket right. She had the ticket validated at her local retailer who confirmed she was really going to be $1 million richer.

She hid the ticket “many places” before cashing it in at Lottery Central in Lansing on Monday. She has no immediate plans for her money.

The lucky ticket was purchased at Wesco #12, 4101 Lansing Ave., in Jackson.

$40,000,000 Spectacular is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at more than 10,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2005, the contribution was $667.6 million.
