LANSING, May 10, 2006 – Cashword proved to be a lucky choice for an anonymous Dearborn Heights woman. The winner scratched 10 words to win a $35,000 prize.
The lucky winner was in disbelief after learning of her good fortune. She hid the winning ticket in the vegetable compartment of her refrigerator before cashing it in at the Lottery’s Dearborn Heights office. She plans on using her winnings for home improvements. In her free time, she enjoys wallyball, bowling, biking, and walking.
The lucky ticket was purchased at Speedway #5558, 5795 S. Merriman Rd., in Westland.
Cashword is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at more than 10,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2005, the contribution was $667.6 million.
