Bender matched five of six numbers in the Wednesday, January 29 WINFALL drawing to win a $34,719 prize! The winning numbers for that drawing were: 4, 13, 29, 30, 32 and 39.
In total for the January 29, 2003 WINFALL drawing, there were 17 lucky winners who will each receive $34,719 for matching five numbers; 1,068 winners who will each receive $1,160 for matching four numbers; and 19,595 winners who will each receive $57 for matching three numbers.
Bender, 56, purchased the winning “easy pick” ticket at H&T Short Stop, 11196 S. M-43/Wall Lake Road, in Delton.
“My wife, Joyce, looked up the winning numbers on the Michigan Lottery’s Web site (www.michigan.gov/lottery),” said the lucky winner.
Bender, a retiree who enjoys spending his free time golfing, said he kept the winning ticket hidden underneath a pillow prior to turning it in at the Lottery’s regional office in Wyoming. He added that he plans to use his winnings to pay bills.
WINFALL drawings are held twice a week – Wednesday and Saturday – at 7:29 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 7,200 Lottery retailers statewide.
Since it was created in 1972, the Michigan Lottery has returned over $11 billion to the state School Aid Fund, which supports K-12 public education in the state of Michigan.
