LANSING, January 27, 2003 – A lucky Highland man couldn’t believe it when he learned that he had matched five of six numbers in the Michigan Lottery’s first WINFALL drawing on Wednesday, January 22 to win a $32,256 prize! The winning numbers for that drawing were: 8, 13, 18, 23, 44 and 45.
In total for the January 22, 2003 WINFALL drawing, there were 18 lucky winners who will each receive $32,256 for matching five numbers; 924 winners who will each receive $1,319 for matching four numbers; and 15,629 winners who will each receive $70 for matching three numbers.
The happy winner, who works as an engineer for MSX International, purchased the winning “easy pick” ticket at Pine Ridge Market, 1065 S. Milford Road, in Highland.
“I checked the winning numbers for that particular drawing on the Michigan Lottery’s Web site, and was shocked to learn that I had won!” exclaimed the 44-year-old winner.
The lucky winner, who enjoys golfing in his spare time, said he kept the winning ticket in his pocket at all times to ensure its safety prior to turning it in at the Lottery’s regional office in Dearborn Heights. He added that he plans to save his winnings for the future.
