LANSING, January 15, 2003 – A Coloma man hit the jackpot when he scratched off a Michigan Lottery "Jumbo Jackpot" instant ticket revealing a $1,000,000 top prize!

The lucky man purchased the winning ticket at Watervliet Mobil, 112 St. Joseph, in Watervliet.

The winner said that upon scratching off the ticket and realizing he had won a $1,000,000 top prize he started shaking with excitement.

"I was shocked!" he exclaimed. "My family thought I was kidding when I told them I had won, so we asked a local Lottery retailer to double-check the ticket and the clerk confirmed it was a winning ticket!"

The lucky man, who enjoys traveling in his free time, said he kept the ticket locked in a safe prior to turning it in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing. He said he plans to use part of his winnings to pay bills, take a vacation and save the remainder for the future.
