LANSING, October 22, 2002 – A lucky Marysville woman spelled her way to instant wealth upon revealing a $300,000 top prize in the Lottery’s "Bingo Mania" instant game!
"As I scratched the ticket, more and more numbers were revealed," said the winner, who requested anonymity. "When I got to the last number, I was scared to scratch it off. I wasn’t sure at first I had really won, so I had several family members check the ticket as well. They all agreed it was a winning ticket. I was so shocked to learn I had won the top prize that I couldn’t stop shaking."
The winning ticket was sold at Speedway #8826, 2611 Ravenswood Road, in Port Huron.
The happy winner, who enjoys watching movies, playing bingo and spending time with her two nieces, said she hid the winning ticket between the mattress and box spring at her mother’s house prior to turning it in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing. The 42-year-old woman said she does not yet have any special plans for her winnings
The lucky lady offered the following words of encouragement to other Lottery hopefuls: "Never say never. You have to play the Lottery to win the Lottery!"
"Bingo Mania" is just one of many instant games available at more than 9,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
