LANSING, October 22, 2002 – – David Jankowski of Redford Township got the surprise of a lifetime upon scratching off a Michigan Lottery "Super 6s" instant game ticket to reveal a $6,000 top prize!
"When I scratched off the ticket and realized I had won a $6,000 prize, I didn’t believe it was real," Jankowski said.
The 48-year-old winner, who enjoys participating in Civil War re-enactment activities and gardening in his free time, purchased the winning ticket at Livonia Mini Mart, 27408 6 Mile Road, in Livonia.
Jankowski, who works as a supervisor at ACCI Inc., said he kept the winning ticket in his pocket at all times to ensure its safety before turning it in at the Lottery’s regional office in Dearborn Heights.
The lucky man said he plans to share part of his winnings with family members and use the remainder to pay bills.
"Super 6s" is just one of many Michigan Lottery instant tickets available at more than 9,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
