Lucky Westland Man Wins $16,416 Jackpot Prize in September 27 Michigan Rolldown Drawing!

LANSING, October 2, 2002 – A lucky Westland man matched all five numbers in the September 27 Michigan Rolldown drawing to win a $16,416 jackpot prize! The winning numbers for that day’s drawing were: 5, 7, 23, 30 and 32.

In total for the September 27 drawing, 17,645 winners shared $56,942 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, 55 winners matched four numbers to win a $122 prize; 1,803 winners matched three numbers to win a $10 prize; and 15,786 winners matched two numbers to win the $1 prize.

The lucky "easy-pick" ticket was purchased at Westland Food Store, 1690 S. Venoy Road, in Westland.

"I watched the Michigan Rolldown drawing on WDIV-TV 4, and compared the winning numbers to those on my ticket," the winner said. " I was excited to see that I had won the jackpot!"

The lucky man, who requested anonymity, said he kept the winning ticket hidden in his garage to ensure its safety before turning it in at the Lottery’s regional office in Dearborn Heights. The 44-year-old winner, who works for the City of Westland and enjoys riding motorcycles in his free time, added that he plans to use part of his winnings to pay bills and have fun with the remainder of his prize.

The first Michigan Rolldown drawing was held on February 28, 2000. Drawings are held six days a week – – Monday through Saturday – – at 7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
