Todd Upshaw of Detroit Wins $10,000 Prize in Michigan Lottery's "Fantasy 5s" Instant Game!

LANSING, July 31, 2002 – The fantasy of instant wealth recently became reality for Todd Upshaw of Detroit! Upon scratching off a Michigan Lottery "Fantasy 5s" instant ticket he revealed a $10,000 prize.

The winning ticket was purchased at Summit Party Store, 22901 W. 8 Mile Road, in Detroit.

"I scratched the winning ticket off at home," Upshaw said. "After looking at the numbers a few times, I realized I had won a $10,000 prize. I was so excited I jumped up and down, then I ran downstairs to share the good news with my parents!"

The 24-year-old winner, who said he is interested in Euro-style cars, said he kept the winning ticket hidden under his pillow in his bedroom at all times to ensure its safety before turning it in at the Lottery’s regional office in Dearborn Heights.

Upshaw, a security guard for Nation Wide Security, said he plans to save part of his winnings for the future and spend the rest!

"Fantasy 5s" is just one of many instant games available at more than 9,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
