Frank Stanley of Byron Center Wins $24,014 Michigan Rolldown Jackpot!

LANSING, July 11, 2001 – Retirement became a little more exciting for Frank Stanley of Byron Center recently when he matched all five numbers in the June 30 Michigan Rolldown drawing to win the $24,014 jackpot! That day’s winning numbers were: 3, 8, 17, 21 and 26.

 

In total for the June 30 Michigan Rolldown drawing, 26,149 winners shared $81,928 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, there were 99 winners who matched four numbers for a prize of $99; 2,758 winners who matched three numbers for a prize of $9; and 23,291 winners who matched two numbers for the $1 prize.

 

Stanley, a 54-year-old retiree, purchased the lucky Michigan Rolldown “easy pick” ticket at Broadmoor & 68th Street Plaza, 6773 Broadmoor Ave. S.E., in Caledonia.

 

The winner, an avid Michigan Lottery player for the past 29 years, learned he had won the jackpot after looking up the winning numbers on the Lottery’s Web site (www.state.mi.us/milottery).

 

Prior to turning in his winning ticket at the Lottery’s regional office in Wyoming, the lucky man said he kept it in his pocket at all times to its ensure its safety.

 

Stanley, who enjoys playing in a band in his spare time, said he plans to use his winnings to pay bills.

 

Michigan Rolldown’s first drawing was held Monday, February 28, 2000. Drawings are conducted six days a week-Monday through Friday-at 7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 6,700 Lottery retailers statewide.
