Winners From Rochester Hills and New Haven Split Michigan Rolldown Jackpot!

LANSING, June 19, 2001-Michigan Lottery players continue to win big with the Lottery’s Michigan Rolldown game! There were two lucky jackpot winners in the June 7, 2001 Michigan Rolldown drawing – one from Rochester Hills and the other from New Haven. The winning numbers for that drawing were: 5, 18, 24, 27 and 30. The total jackpot prize pool for the June 7 drawing was $22,228, so each jackpot winner collected $11,114 before taxes.

 

In total for the June 7 Rolldown drawing, there were 23,271 winners who shared $74,602 in prizes. In addition to the two jackpot winners, there were 95 winners who matched four numbers for a prize of $96; 2,510 winners who matched three numbers for a prize of $9; and 20,664 winners who matched two numbers for the $1 prize.

 

The 52-year-old winner from Rochester Hills, who requested anonymity, said he learned he had won a share of the jackpot when he saw the winning numbers in the newspaper.

 

The winner, an engineer at Express Design Inc., purchased the winning Michigan Rolldown “easy pick” ticket at Happy Hour Party Shoppe, 3359 Auburn Road, in Auburn Hills.

 

Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Sterling Heights. The winner said he kept it in his pocket to ensure its safety. The lucky man, who enjoys bowling in his free time, said he plans to use his winnings pay bills and take a vacation.

 

The other winner in the June 7 Michigan Rolldown drawing, a lucky man from New Haven, was also shocked to win a Michigan Rolldown jackpot prize.

 

The winner, who requested anonymity, said he learned he had won a share of the jackpot after he looked up the winning numbers on the Lottery’s Web site (www.state.mi.us/milottery).

 

The 63-year-old winner, who works at Ford Motor Company, purchased the winning Michigan Rolldown ticket at Buscemi’s International, 54800 N. Gratiot Ave., in Chesterfield Township.

 

Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Sterling Heights, the lucky man said he kept it in his checkbook to keep it safe. The winner said he has not yet decided what he will do with his winnings.

 

Michigan Rolldown’s first drawing was held Monday, February 28, 2000. Drawings are conducted six days a week-Monday through Saturday — at 7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 6,700 Lottery retailers statewide.
