LANSING, April 30, 2001 – A Taylor man recently experienced the excitement of winning big with the Michigan Lottery when he matched all five numbers in the April 7 Michigan Rolldown drawing to win the $19,325 jackpot! That day’s winning numbers were: 7, 9, 27, 28, and 31.
In total for the April 7 Michigan Rolldown drawing, 20,567 winners shared $65,523 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, there were 67 winners who matched four numbers for a prize of $118; 1,977 winners who matched three numbers for a prize of $10; and 18,522 winners who matched two numbers for the $1 prize.
The winner, who requested anonymity, purchased the winning Michigan Rolldown “easy-pick” ticket at Meijer #35, 14640 Pardee Road, in Taylor.
The 61-year-old retiree said he learned he had won the jackpot when he saw the winning numbers on the Lottery’s web site (www.state.mi.us/milottery).
Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Dearborn Heights, the winner said he kept it in a safe. The lucky man said he does not yet have any special plans for his winnings.
Michigan Rolldown’s first drawing was held Monday, February 28, 2000. Drawings are conducted six days a week ¾ Monday through Saturday ¾ at 7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 6,400 Lottery retailers statewide.
