Farmington Hills Man Wins $15,075 Jackpot in Lottery?s New Year?s Day Michigan Rolldown Drawing!

 LANSING, January 10, 2001 – A lucky Farmington Hills man started off the New Year with a bang when he matched all five numbers in the January 1 Michigan Rolldown drawing to win the $15,075 jackpot! That day’s winning numbers were: 6, 12, 14, 22 and 33.

 

In total for the January 1 Michigan Rolldown drawing, there were 16,908 winners who shared $52,734 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, there were 72 winners who matched four numbers for a prize of $85; 1,838 winners who matched three numbers for a prize of $9; and 14,997 winners who matched two numbers for the $1 prize.

 

The 44-year-old winner, who requested anonymity, purchased the winning ticket at Brass Mug Liquor, 19213 Newburgh Road, in Livonia.

 

The lucky man, who works as a supervisor at Visteon, said he learned he had won the jackpot when he saw the winning numbers on the Michigan Lottery Web site (www.state.mi.us/milottery).

 

“I called some of my friends over to verify the numbers,” he said. “I couldn’t believe it! My hands were shaking!”

 

Prior to turning the winning Michigan Rolldown “easy pick” ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Redford Township, he locked it in a desk drawer for safekeeping.

 

The lucky man, who enjoys spending his free time with his family, said he plans to use his winnings to pay bills and make home improvements.

 

Michigan Rolldown’s first drawing was held Monday, February 28, 2000. Drawings are conducted six days a week ¾ Monday through Saturday ¾ at 7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 6,400 Lottery retailers statewide.
