"I bought the ticket and then carried it around with me while shopping all day before I scratched it off," Beckers said. "I scratched it off when I got home, and I just sat there staring at it in disbelief! I called my sister and said, ‘I think I won $300,000.’ I still don’t believe it!"

The 63-year-old homemaker said she enjoys playing Michigan Lottery games. She added that she has been playing Lottery games for the past 27 years, and she truly enjoys the wide variety of games offered.

Beckers purchased the winning "Bingo Mania" instant ticket at Bruces Mighty Midget Inc., 231 Western Avenue, in Allegan.

Prior to turning the winning ticket in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing, the winner said she kept it in a Ziploc bag in a bacon box in her freezer!

The lucky lady, who enjoys playing cards, sewing and playing bingo in her free time, said she plans to use part of her winnings to take a trip to Ireland and build a pole barn. She added that she is still thinking about what to do with the rest of it.

The winner offered the following words of encouragement to other Lottery hopefuls: "It can happen to you if you are lucky!"

"Bingo Mania" is just one of many Michigan Lottery instant tickets available at more than 9,300 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
